A Number Of Basic Movie Write Ups

By Lupe Ross

It used to be that you had to go to the video store to get a movie. These days you can stay at home and get movies from a movie download site. Following is a list of a few movies that you can get using a movie download site.

Law of the Lawless: War horse cast is chief interest here, with Robertson an ex-gunman turned magistrate. Cast includes Dale Robertson, Yvonne De Carlo, William Bendix, Bruce Cabot, Richard Arlen, and Kent Taylor. (88 minutes, 1964)

A Different Loyalty: Set throughout the Cold Battle, Rock plays an American spouse to Everett's British triple representative. He's tom between her and his superlatives, therefore building turmoil in the matrimony. The 2 leads act their little hearts out, although the film is terminally unexciting. Cast includes Sharon Rock, Rupert Everett, Julian Wadham, Michael Cochrane, Ann Lambton, Joss Ackland, and Jim Piddock. (96 minutes, 2004)

The Source: Pop-fashion documentary on the Beat movement, drawing on archival footage of Jack Kerouac plus crisp material on William Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg. iewer friendly instead of scholarly, this vigorous film serves as a phenomenal primer on this seminal movement in American lifestyle. Key poems by Kerouac, Burroughs, and Ginsberg are worked on camcorder by a well selected Johnny Depp, Dennis Basket, and John Turturro, respectively. (88 minutes, 1999)

Slaughterhouse 5: Occasionally slow, occasionally on track, spreading view of life through eyes of one Billy Pilgrim, virtuoso no one who gets to be "unstuck" in time. Large-spending limit adaptation of a weird fantasy novel is tough going for those with a producer's point of view. Cast includes Michael Sacks, Eugene Roche, Valerie Perrine, Holly Near, and Perry Emperor. (104 minutes, 1972)

I Never Sang for My Father: Tender adaptation of Robert Anderson play in reference to grown man (Hackman) faced with the problems involved in caring for his older dad (Douglas). Cast includes Melvyn Douglas, Gene Hackman, Dorothy Stickney, Estelle Parsons, Elizabeth Hubbard, and Lovelady Powell. (93 minutes, 1970)

Stranded: A few effective minutes can't uplift this unrewarding sci-fi entry in reference to foreigners who materialize to the planet, taking adolescent Skye and nana O'Sullivan hostage. Cast includes Joe Morton, Maureen O'Sullivan, Susan Barnes, Cameron Dye, Michael Greene, and Brendan Hughes. (80 minutes, 1987.

The Guys: A fire branch commander who lost 8 gentlemen in the nine/eleven Planet Trade Hub catastrophe gets help from a virtuoso author as he disposes to transfer eulogies for the departed. Based on Anne Nelson's play, this looks surprisingly well as a film, as a result of restrained feelings, truthful performances by the 2 megastars, and the nobility it finds in the lives of normal hardworking individuals. Director Simpson co-scripted with Nelson; Weaver is his spouse. Cast includes Sigourney Weaver, and Anthony LaPaglia. (88 minutes, 2003)

The Hulk: Bruce Banner was exposed to an incredibly high dose of gamma rays. While he thinks he has recovered fully, he suffers blackouts, and emotional outburst. Meanwhile, a green monster called the Hulk has been scene on occasion causing considerable damage wherever he appears. Is it possible that Bruce and the Hulk are one and the same?

The Shadow: This film is based on the 1930's comics. The Shadow is called into action when his fiercest rival Shiwan Khan is attempting to take over the world. Khan's plan is to hold a large city hostage with an atomic bomb, and through this take over the world.

The Beatles In Stereo - Review Of The Remastered Stereo Beatles CD Box Set

By Henry J. Jamison Jr.

Many Beatles fans already own all of their albums on CD and may be wondering if they should really buy their whole catalog on CD again simply because they have been "remastered."

It's a lot easier to understand why you should want to buy The Beatles in Mono box set. That set includes all of The Beatles songs in their original mono mixes on CD for the very first time. It even includes four mono mixes that have never been released in any format (not even LP) ever before.

Sound quality is the key with The Beatles in Stereo set. While the mixes aren't new, sometimes they sound so much more clear that they might as well be.

One comparison that should help you understand the improvement in sound quality with these remastered CDs is the comparison from VHS to DVD and then from DVD to Blu-Ray. To my ears, this difference is at least as big of a jump as VHS to Blu-Ray is a jump in video quality.

But to me I think the difference is even more than that of jumping up to Blu-Ray video because with music the increased clarity allows me to hear parts of the music that I never heard before.

Hearing these newly remastered Beatles CDs is like hearing them for the first time. Yes, the improvements in warmth & clarity are that big!

I've read that they worked on these remasters for years to get them just perfect and that work has really paid off because they managed to capture all of the original analog warmth of the original master tapes while also managing to make them more clear so that all of the parts of the music are easier to hear.

Paul's bass (and he wrote a lot of awesome bass parts with The Beatles) and Ringo's drums are probably the biggest winners in these new remastered versions because the bass and the drums really cut through these songs like never before.

I was worried that they would lose the original ambiance and warmth of the music in an attempt to "modernize" the music. I was also worried that they would take part in the horrible "loudness wars" that are ruining the sound quality of most modern music. It turns out I had nothing to be worried about. These newly remastered stereo mixes sound absolutely fantastic. - 23815
