Mod Chips In An XBOX 360

By Daniel Thompson

Deciding to purchase an Xbox 360 is always a great idea. The Xbox 360?s gaming library is vast and you are sure to find plenty of games to amuse you. But if you prefer to back up your games, or play games that you home-brewed, or perhaps even play hacked games, you would not be able to do so thanks to the limitations installed in the Xbox 360. This is when you require a mod chip.

Mod chips are not new. They were used a lot in previous generation consoles so they are not unfamiliar to a lot of people. The Xbox 360 mod chip is basically the same, as far as features go, as the mods from before. Having the mod chip for the Xbox 360 means that you will be able to bypass all the security features installed by the manufacturer.

Because a single mod chip can drastically help you to increase your game collection it is not surprising that they are so popular. With one in your system you will be able to play games that you got from anywhere as well as the ones you have backed-up. Even unlicensed customized games will be able to play on your Xbox 360.

The XBOX 360 along with other gaming consoles are also region locked preventing regular gamers to take their systems to other countries and play games that come from there. A mod chip can also remove this limitation so you can play games that are not from your region.

Of course not everyone wants a mod chip, preferring to go out and buy a new game when they feel the urge to do so. The reasons why Microsoft installed the security features they did are, among other things, to prevent the spread of piracy and to protect the fragile components inside the unit from damage.

To ascertain whether it is permissible to use a mod chip with your Xbox 360 you could visit a few local forums. Those limitations were placed in the Xbox to also ensure the safety of the consumers as well as to meet the legal requirements of each particular country. Because each country's legal standards may be different the visit to the forums is recommended.

As long as you follow the instructions that will teach you how to go about modding your system you should encounter no problems at all. In no time at all you can be enjoying any game that has taken your fancy.

Players are becoming more and more frustrated by the limitations installed by Microsoft. Many prefer to download games off the Internet and then burn them onto disc. However, as already stated, without the mod chips those games cannot be played on the Xbox 360. Naturally, because they are so easy to come by, people who make the mod chips are trying to make a profit from them. It is recommended that you take a look at reputable sites so that when you get them you will have good quality mod chips that actually do work. - 23815

God of War Remains An All Time Bestseller

By Patrick Daniels

God of War was one of the best video games of the last generation. Not only in its revolutionary, button contextual finishing moves, but the story telling and epic brutality of the game. It was by far the best action adventure game of the generation.

The metal gear games are not included in this discussion, however. They are best saved for the stealth genre. But God of War and its sequel were unique in that they showed us what was possible to achieve on an aging gaming platform. Its developers certainly could have delayed the release of its sequel for a year so that it could have been released on the new PS3 platform, and then more might have migrated to the new system faster. But as it was released, it is likely that more people got to play it on the PS2 than would have otherwise.

Luckily for all of us PS2 owners, Sony decided that it would make more sense to release it on the older platform with a much broader base of console owners. It was a good decision and ended up being one of the biggest sellers of the year. Most of the time, when I play a game, it is the story that drives me forward to see what is going to happen next. I can sometimes overlook a little bit of deficiency in game play in order to play through a good story. Sometimes the story is lacking and the game play needs to be fun and innovative enough to keep me moving forward.

God of War was teeming with both story line and game play tactics. From the beginning of the story, it felt like you were in the midst of a summer blockbuster. Taking control of Kratos and encountering your initial boss fight propelled you further into the depths of the game, and you always felt like you were in for something special around the corner.

The puzzles in the game were just interesting enough to keep the interest level high without becoming frustrating. It provided the perfect mixture of combat and puzzlement without boring the player. - 23815

The XBOX 360

By Daniel Thompson

Not so long ago Microsoft's Xbox was engaged in a battle with two other consoles that were enjoying plenty of success. They all had the same objective which was to corner the gaming market while generating more client?le. As the battle grew ever hotter Microsoft developed the Xbox 360 which went on sale toward the end of 2005.

In response Microsoft?s two main competitors also launched their own consoles to rival with the Xbox 360 that had basically built on to the original Xbox making use of the same powerful gaming engine. Game developers can now produce games that keep players entertained for untold hours with the excellent graphics and fascinating realism. Because of the newer console the Xbox 360 has taken gaming to a new level. Despite the launch of the new consoles by Nintendo and Sony, the Xbox 360 continues to ride the wave of success by generating new sales every day, both for the console itself as well as the games.

It all began when Microsoft released what was considered an entry version, the Core, which retailed at around four hundred dollars. Later on the Core was replaced by the Arcade version. Unfortunately this version made a few mistakes and now there is the Pro version that contains a hard drive as will. Over the years Microsoft has continually worked on enhancing the Xbox system by adding larger capacity and also superior hardware. As a result problems that pertained to the temperature of the console, or the noise created by its operation have been addressed and rectified.

Finished in matte black and coming with a headset to match is the latest and most costly of the Xbox 360 range and it is called the Elite. With a host of features that include a 120 GB hard drive as well as its own HDMI 1.2 cable that enables games to be played in full 1080p, the Xbox 360 continues to be a fierce competitor. For people who own the older consoles that did not come with their own cables the only option is to purchase one, although they are rather pricey.

All of the models are capable of playing XBOX 360 games that can be found in stores so choosing the least expensive model shouldn't leave you out. Each configuration also includes a composite cable for standard play and a 1-month Gold trial, Silver XBOX Live membership for online play.

As far as hardware is concerned, you will find that the Xbox 360 contains a Tri-Core CPU manufactured by IBM. Unlike the chip used in the original Xbox Microsoft uses one called a Xenos, which is not the same one used by its predessessor. Because of all the features in the Xbox 360 games are much clearer and faster as well.

The XBOX 360 games all come in dual-layer DVD-ROM format with each game having up to 7 GB of space to utilize for the game to fit on a single disc. The XBOX 360 drive can also play DVD movies and read a variety of CD and DVD formats. An external HD-DVD drive used to be included, but was later discontinued prior to the fall of HD-DVD.

Another great feature is that many Xbox 360 games are also computer compatible. Not only serious gamers will appreciate the Xbox 360, even more casual gamers will as well, while they both enjoy increasing their own gaming library. - 23815

New Sound Spells Success for Axl and Guns N Roses

By Patrick Daniels

The new Guns N Roses release has gotten a lot of attention because it doesn't sound like the old stuff we all knew and loved. Yes, it is a different sound, but I don't think that's a bad thing.

The first album, Appetite for Destruction, set the stage for the sound the band would become known for. As a debut album, it did what it needed to do by blending a little bit of punk, a whisper of glam rock, and a whole lot of loud and brash attitude.

After the raging success of Attitude, the two Illusion albums allowed the new millionaire boys to branch out a little bit artistically and try new sounds. Some fans felt the dirty, rough back alley sound had been lost to fancy production techniques but time has treated the Illusion releases well and they stand strong in the lineup. And with the new Chinese Democracy release 15 years later, we hear yet another new sound. Same old Axl, but updated to keep up with the times. Some heads are reeling.

Other than Axl, there are no returning original members of the band. Thats okay, because Axl would make them crazy anyway. I know that the album cover says Guns N Roses, but this is most definitely an Axl Rose album. If it just had his name on the cover, it might have been a little better received. If the die hard fans give the album a chance, then I think that they will hear some of the classic sounds, some of the classic riffs that the hard rocking band of the eighties perfected.

The first two songs on the album open it up with frenzy. The title track, being the better of the two, lights it up and even though it was written over the last fifteen years, it still feels fresh and new. These groups of songs bridge the years from the last album to today. They could almost all be played on the radio and have unique sounds that are far better than 90 percent of the other so called rock out there. I would much rather blast this album while cruising in my car than Nickelback or Three Doors Down or Daughtry or any of a hundred other rock bands that sound the same---weak. - 23815

Download Films

By Ahrensa Auravictrix

Look below if you came to see motion picture reviews. In this paragraph I will give you some search terms to reach movie down load sites. You can try to search a term like "Online Music Downloads", if you want some more, use "Top 100 Movie Rentals" and "Film Downloading".

Foxes: Foxes is about 4 teenaged gals try dealing with the normal not in our town complications carried by growing up in San Fernando Valley. Adept cast and evidently genuine motives are sabotaged by rough storyline that just isn't gripping enough. Cast includes Jodie Foster, Cherie Currie, Marilyn Kagan, Kandice Stroh, Scott Baio, Sally Kellerman, Randy Quaid, and Lois Smith. (106 minutes, 1980)

Illicit: Cast includes Barbara Stanwyck, James Rennie, Ricardo Cortez, Joan Blondell, and Charles Butterworth. Self sufficient-minded Stanwyck cherishes Rennie, although doesn't desire matrimony to tarnish her cheerfulness. This is a boring film with way too much talking. Cast includes Marcello Mastroianni, Claudia Cardinale, Anouk Aimee, Sandra Milo, Barbara Steele, Rossella Falk, Madeleine LeBeau, Caterina Boratto, Edra Gale, and Mark Herron. T (81 minutes, 1931)

The House of Yes: On a stormy day in 1983, a youthful gentleman brings his fiancee home to meet his broken Washington, D.C, family, containing his demented twin sis, Jackie-O, whose fantasies in Jacqueline Kennedy have lengthened to the point ofreinacting the JFK assassination-with live bullets. Well made black comedy, based on the stage production by Wendy MacLeod. Cast includes Parker Posey, Josh Harnilton, Tori Spelling, Freddie Prinze, Jr., Genevieve Bujold, and Rachael Leigh Cook. (90 minutes, 1997)

Trade: A thirteen-year-old gal is kidnapped by members of a sex-trafficking ring. As her older sibling follows her track, he hooks up with a Texas cop (Kline) who has his own rationales for chasing this outfit of bad guys. Downbeat drama reveals a stunning, debasing circumstance, although it's maddeningly choppy, one second daring and commanding (particularly with Finnish actress Bachleda) and the next remarkably corny. Cast includes Kevin Kline, Alicia Bachleda, Paulina Gaitan, Kathleen Gati, Pasha D. Lychnikoff, Anthony Crivello, Linda Emond, Zack Ward, Cesar Ramos, Marco Perez, and Tim Reid. (120 minutes, 2007)

Solarbabies: Futuristic adolescent rubbish has Gertz and a bunch of her friends are trapped by a Nazi-like group inside a fortress. The group plans to get out with the help of "Bohdi", an old mystical force. Cast includes Richard Jordan, Jami Gertz, Jason Patric, Lukas Haas, Charles Durning, Peter DeLuise, Adrian Pasdar, Sarah Douglas, Frank Talk, Terrence Mann, and Kelly Bishop. (194 minutes, 1986)

The Fog: A thick haze from the Pacific hangs over a Northwest seaside village, bringing with it murderous and vengeful ghosts. Lame redo of John Carpenter's 1980 film modifies the structure but does not improve on the first edition. Cast includes Tom Welling, Maggie Grace, Selma Blair, DeRay Davis, Kenneth Welsh, Adrian Hough, Sara Botsford, and Rade Sherbedgia. (100 minutes, 2005)

So Fine: Crazy comedy in reference to professor-child of a N.Y.C. clothes producer who is dragged into the business and accidentally finds success with a crazy idea for see-through slacks. Film goes off in spontaneous directions some of them surprisingly stupid-however continues to be funny most of the time. Cast includes Ryan O'Neal, Jack Warden, Mariangela Melato, Richard Kiel, Fred Gwynne, Mike Kellin, and David Rounds. (91 minutes, 1981)

The Seniors: 4 collegians open a fake sex hospital, which mushrooms into a multi million dollar business. The movie is alternately stupid and sarcastic, with some harmless nudity thrown in. Cast includes Jeffrey Byron, Gary Imhof, Dennis Quaid, Lou Richards, PrisciIla Barnes, Alan Reed, Edward Andrews, Robert Emhardl, and Alan Hewitt. (87 minutes, 1978)

The Big Trees: Viciously ambitious lumberman Douglas runs afoul of a religious sect and nearly everybody else around him in this cornball outdoor melodrama. Cast includes Kirk Douglas, Eve Miller, Patrice Wymore, Edgar Buchanan, John Archer, Alan Hale, Jr., Roy Roberts, and Ellen Corby. (89 minutes, 1952)

This short list is an example of the variety of films you can find online that you can download. Remember to use search terms like "Downloadable Films" and "DVD Movie Rentals" when looking for movie sites. A final search with "How To Download Movies" might get you what you need if the other ones fail. - 23815
