Copying DVDs Explained - It's Easy!

By Sam Lockwood

Today we're going to cover how you can produce backup copies of movies with your computer's burner. There's a few DVD copying softwares available, however lots of them aren't able to make backups of all movies. Let's see what is required to burn any DVD movie you wish.

The programs that you normally utilize to burn a music disc typically won't copy DVDs. This is because most movies that you buy in the stores have a form of copyright protection on the disc. Because of this protection, your computer won't be able to recognize the DVD disc and read it properly.

This doesn't mean you're out of hope though! You simply need to equip your computer with the right type of software. When you have the right program, it's easy to produce a copy of any movie you want.

Some software businesses have programmed DVD burning softwares that can get past these copyright guards and allow your PC to make copies of your DVDs. Your computer is able to understand the data on the movie and make a copy since the program can bypass the blocks on the DVD.

As a side note, almost all DVD discs are recorded on eight gigabyte DVD discs. Yet most blank DVDs in the stores are just 4.7 Gigabytes. It's ok though - the best DVD burning softwares will be able to condense the data so that it can fit on the smaller disc. It's possible to buy bigger blank DVD discs, but they are very pricey, so this characteristic is a great one to look for in a DVD copying software.

There's a number of DVD copying computer programs out there, but make sure that you find a program that offers you free updates. The software package will need to update itself now and again simply because the copyright guards on DVDs will change.

I also want to search for a moneyback guarantee offered. This way if there's any trouble with the program I can get my money refunded. The companies that are confident in their computer software shouldn't have any issue giving you this.

If you love movies, owning a DVD copying computer program is great. You can produce copies of any DVD you want. These computer programs are simple to utilize and are the ideal tool for anyone who loves DVDs. - 23815

The Illustrious History Of Drums

By Jim Samposzi

The history of the drum goes as far back as our earliest history. People played the drum to achieve sounds as far back in time as 6000 B.C. In these old cultures, like the Aztecs, Incas, and Mayas, this instrument was played when they threw parties. Drums were dug up in many sites of these ancient burial areas by scientists and discoverers.

Many believe that it is the stock of the drum that is responsible for making sound. But, it is not; it is the pulled out fabric over the top, or the membrane, that is responsible for the beat. The sound is made by hitting this top with a stick of some kind. When the drum is drummed on, the membrane vibrates and noise produced is sent through the hollow of the drum. The Indians actually made sticks to generate this sound during rituals and festivities.

In the 1900's, drums began to be further enhanced, and eventually, the drum set came to music. A drum set has: a tom-tom, cymbals, snare drums, and bass drums (one of these bass drums has a foot pedal to smash it with. Other tone-type instruments like bells, chimes, and wood blocks were used in conjunction to produce even more beats to songs. These collections were popular in the 30's up to the 50's, then drum kits such as the ones described above were a vital component of musical groups. You were not taken seriously if you did not have a drum set.

Like other string-type instrument pieces, drums became digitized for more enhancement. Digital devices like keyboards, synthesizers, and drum machines made it possible for one to create any sound he/she desired with the push of a button. These sounds put together with synthesizers were unique and were not emulated from set of drums. Therefore, modern music employed these devices for such reasons.

Drums were not exclusively used for tunes. In fact, people of other continents used to beat drums as a form of speaking with one another. A series of drum tones would signal a comment that others in the tribe would understand. Drums further stood as a symbol of religion for Native Americans and people of ethnicity in other parts of the world. Most thought of the drum as a male and present them as an adolescent grows up.

The drum produces a sound like no other. Drums have been included in genres like: rock and roll, funk, bluegrass, classical music, and much more. Next time you attend a concert of sorts, look in the band and you can view a drum or group of drums of a number of different styles. These instruments are great for percussion and low tones; because of this, these instruments can be a perfect addition to a concert or band of any kind. - 23815
