Fantastic Invasion of The Planet Earth: Discharged theatrically in 3-D, this movie was pretty much a disaster. A young couple finds themselves caught in a deserted town encircled in a mammoth bubble. Cast includes Michael Cole, Deborah Walley, and Johnny Desmond. (91 minutes, 1996)

Mysterious Lady: An Austrian armed forces officer (Nagel) falls in love with Garbo, clueless that she's a Russian agent. Another contrived plot made serviceable by Garbo herself. Cast includes Greta Garbo, Conrad Nagel, Gustav von Seyffertitz, Albert Pollet, and Edward Connelly. (96 minutes, 1928)

Cujo: Sincerely terrifying adaptation of Stephen King thriller about a female and her child terrorized by a rabid St. Bernard. The plot develops gradually and is undoubtedly too horrifying (although not gory) for kids. Cast includes Dee Wallace, Daniel Hugh-Kelly, Christopher Rock, and Factories Watson. (91 minutes, 1983)

The Eel: A businessman viciously kills his spouse after finding that she has been cheating on him. 8 years later, he is paroled from penitentiary, and can only connect to his pet eel, since it cannot betray him. Then he saves a female who has tried suicide after a poor relationship. Cast Koji Yakusho, Misa Shimizu, Fujio Tsuneta, Mitsuko Baisho, Akira Emoto, Sho Aikawa, and Ken Kobayashi. (117 minutes, 1977)

Noel: Ambitious tear jerker in regards to the interactions of scared, susceptible buddies, lovers, colleagues, and outsiders on Christmas Eve. A lonely novel editor (Sarandon) whose mom suffers from Alzheimer's, a cop Stroller whose unreasonable jealousy is restraining his fiance Cruz, and a heartbroken waiter Arkin with a odd rebirth fantasy. Gets better as it goes along, it zeros in on issues of acceptance and reconciliation. Cast includes Penelope Cruz, Susan Sarandon, Paul Stroller, Alan Arkin, Marcus Thomas, Chazz Palminteri, Chantal Lonergan, and Erika Rosenbau. (88 minutes, 2004)

Born On The Fourth Of July: A true story that chronicles the life of Ron Kovic. A volunteer in the army, Ron does a tour in Vietnam, where he suffers injuries that leave him paralyzed. Casper: Casper is a friendly ghost that lives in a haunted house, Whipstaff Manor. The owner of Whipstaff Manor has sent Dr. Harvey, who is accompanied by his daughter Kat, to remove all the ghosts from the house so she can recover the treasure that is supposedly in the old manor.
