See A Wonderful Movie Tonight, Check Out These Great Film Possibilities

By Annmarie Henry

Motion pictures are good entertainment but they can also be very valuable for our mental health. Movies permit us to take some time to settle down and escape from our daily problems and concerns. We are able to let go of our day by day cares as we get caught up in the lives we are watching on film.

Christmas Vacation - The Griswalds have big plans for the Holidays this year. Clark has invited a gathering of the relations over for the huge merriment. Clark's labors go foolishly wrong, par for the course for a Griswald holiday.

Deep in My Heart - Guest stars Walter Pidgeon, Paul Henreid, Rosemary Clooney, Gene and Fred Kelly, Jane Powell, Vic Damone, Ann Miller, Cyd Charisse, Howard Keel, Tony Martin. The life of composer Sigmund Romberg is not the matter of high tirade, although film glitters in production numbers with MGM guest stars. Highlights contain Kelly brothers' solitary film appearance collectively, Chatisse's attractive and sensual dance number with James Mitchell, and a amazing number characterizing Ferrer acting a whole show himself. Cast includes Jose Ferrer, Merle Oberon, Helen Traubel, Doe Avedon, Tamara Toumanova, Paul Stewart, Douglas Fowley, and Jim Backus. (132 minutes, 1954)

Down to You - Prinze and Stiles ineffectually try to buddy us up by talking directly into the camcorder, clarifying how their once idyllic college romance went bust (albeit not as bust as the film). In someway, this motion picture manages to find room for subplots in reference to a Television show and a friend who has a try as an adult-film entrepreneur with a sort of bohemian knowledgeable porn actress. Cast includes Freddie Prinze, Jr., Julia Stiles, Shawn Hatosy, Selma Blair, Zak Orth, Ashton Kutcher, Rosario Dawson, Henry Winkler, and Lucie Amaz. (91 minutes, 2000)

The Manchurian Candidate - A current day adaptation of the 1962 motion picture. Decorated war hero Raymond Shaw is now in place to become the Vice President of the US. His Mother, Senator Eleanor Shaw is pulling all the political strings. A dilemma is developing for her plans. Major Bennett Marco, a member of Raymond's platoon is beginning to doubt the events of the day Raymond saved the platoon. Marco is battling an uphill battle, but can't resist the pesky impression that something is not right.

They Only Kill Their Masters - Incredible group of actors in difficult modem-night whodunit set in coastal California town; tries for Daniel Hammett sensation, doesn't relatively make it. Police officer Garner tries to solve slaughter of pregnant female, with formidable Doberman pinscher figuring prominently. Not poor, yet a disappointment. Cast includes James Garner, Katharine Ross, Hal Holbrook, Harry Guardino, June Allyson, Peter Lawford, and Ann Rutherford. (97 minutes, 1972)

Man in The Attic - flavorful account of ill-famed Jack the Ripper, with Palance going full-blast. Remake of The Lodger. Cast includes Jack Palance, Constance Smith, Byron Palmer, Frances Bavier, Rhys Williams, Sean McClory, Isabel Jewell, and Leslie Bradley. (82 minutes, 1954)

Live Flesh - Obsessed child of a prostitute is imprisoned for accidentally shooting and paralyzing a cop. Original tale of teenager's mistake that takes him to prison. Spanish language. Cinematically stimulating, albeit, with a bravura finale. Cast includes Pedro Almodovar, Liberto Rabal, Francesca Neri, Javier Bardem, Angela Molina, Jose Sancho, and Penelope Cruz. (100 minutes, 1997)

Down to Earth - Homer Croy's continuation to "They had to See Paris" has newly riche Midwesterner Rogers setting an end to his family's mindless investing by affirming that he's broke. Not one of Will Roger's best film attempts. Cast includes Can Rogers, Irene Opulent, Dorothy Jordan, and Mary Carlisle. (73 minutes, 1932) - 23815
