The Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB TV Our Review
The technology of televisions has come a long way in a relatively short time.
2008 saw an almost total change from the older CRT technology to the newer, sharper LCD technology. All of the new releases are HD capable LCD or plasma screen TVs. One of these LCD televisions is the Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB.
The Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB is the British counterpart to the Toshiba Regza 32RV635. What's the difference? Only the adaptation for UK usage with the three pins as opposed to the US model.
The 32RV635DB sports an impressive 32 inch wide screen display that produces the best images for a distance of eight to ten feet from the TV. Unlike many other models, this TV has a cabinet design that helps it become one with your room and home, not just another piece of electronics that sticks out like a sore thumb.
This TV is ideal when handling standard or high definition images. However, some high end game applications may not be best suited.
If you're looking to be environmentally conscious, the Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB is the set for you. Looking to make your carbon footprint a tad smaller? You've found the right television. When you look at the left panel in the back of the TV, you'll see the hard disconnect switch. This reduces your typical standby electric usage from about 3 watts per hour to under 1 watt per hour. This is quite impressive when you're trying to help out Mother Earth.
There was a great change made for the Toshiba 32RV635DB. The GUI (graphic user interface) has completely changed. Their menu screens are much more user friendly and the icons and fonts have really been upgraded. Unlike many other menus, you won't be squinting and trying to focus to figure out what you're doing on the menu. The colours are sharp and crisp and make the options easy to read.
One adjustment that may need to be made when powering up the 32RV635DB is choosing the aspect ratio one wishes to view programmes at. This is easily accomplished using the remote control.
There did seem to be a few minor bugs with the 32RV635DB, predominantly some colour bleeding which makes it not work for some fast action games. Aside from that, everything ran smoothly.
The viewing angle on the Toshiba 32RV635DB is great, definitely well beyond what would be expected. There was some shifting of colour and gamma which in turn leads to a bit of distorted viewing. However, the aspect ratio of 1 to 1 pixel mapping is superb. The images produced by this TV are great.
While the 32RV635DB is not one of the high end High Definition TV models on the market, its performance during testing showed it to be ideal for a household seeking a second TV or for day to day viewing purposes. When compared to other sets in the same price range, it outperformed almost all others sets of comparable value.
Pick up a Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB for your viewing pleasure and you'll be really surprised at the quality you get for the price you pay. - 23815
