Sharp Synopses Of A Unique Selection Of Movies

By Kent Warren

We have some films reviewed in the following paragraphs. You can use a search engine to find movie download sites. Film download searches will include "Free Online Movie Streaming", "Fast Movie Downloads", and "Movie Download Site".

The Belles of St. Trinians: Humorous movie of Ronald Searle's cartoons about an entirely insane school for gals, run by a dotty head mistress whose brother, a bookie, desires to use school to his benefit. Cast includes Alastair Sirn, Joyce Grenfell, George Cole, Hermione Baddeley, and Beryl Reid. (90 minutes, 1954)

Only Two Pan Play: Well-intentioned filming of the Kingsley Amis novel That Undecided Sensation (adjusted by Bryan Forbes), yearning for fast giggles instead of satire. Peter Vendors is a librarian flirting with a local councilman's wife. Will they take things too far' Cast includes Peter Vendors, Mai Zetterling, Virginia Maskell, Richard Attenborough, and Kenneth Griffith. (106 minutes, 1962)

Iron Eagle: This is a comic magazine film in regards to an eighteen-year-old who commandeers an F sixteen aircraft and soars to the Middle East (playing rock music on his Walkman all the way) on a quest to recover his dad, who's been taken hostage. Full of jingoistic superlatives, awkward morals, and individuals who die and miraculously return to life. Cast includes Louis Gossett, Jr., Jason Gedrick, David Suchet, Tim Thomerson, Larry G. Scott, Caroline Lagerfelt, and Jerry Levine. (119 minutes, 1986) .

Sugarbaby: Its love at first sight for fat mortuary attendant Sagebrecht and subway train driver Swig in this droll romantic satire. Actors and tale are off beat, the avant-garde lighting fails, and the camcorder movements by cinematographer Johanna Heer are irritating. Cast includes Marianne Sagebrecht and Eisi Swig. (87 minutes, 1985)

The General: One of Keaton's best silent films, setting comedy contrary to real Civil War tale of a stolen train, and Union spies. Not as fanciful as other Keaton films, although beautifully finished. Cast includes Buster Keaton, Marion Mack, Glen Cavender, Jim Farley, and Joseph Keaton. (100 minutes, 1984)

Light Years: Conceited energized sci-fi fantasy, in regards to a prince who time-voyages into the future; he's enclosed by characters identified Ambisextra, Transformation, Chief of the Distorted, and The Collective Voice (so you know this wasn't made with little kids in mind). Cast includes Voices of Glenn Close, Christopher Plummer, Jennifer Grey, John Shea, David Johansen, Terrence Mann, and Penn and Teller. (71 minutes, 1988)

Life of Brian: The Monty Python religious parable can possibly hurt every religious denomination that exists, although it shouldn't. The tale of a guy whose life resemblances Christ is the funniest and most maintained film from Britain's poor boys. Cast includes Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. (93 minutes, 1979)

Seminole: An adept cast in an uncommon drama in reference to sincere cavalry lieutenant Hudson trying to help one Indian tribe's attempts to break free of white man's rule. Cast includes Rock Hudson, Barbara Hale, Anthony Quinn, Richard Carlson, Hugh O'Brian, Russell Johnson, Lee Marvin, and James Best. (87 minutes, 1953)

Borderline: Bronson, minus Jill Ireland this time, is a border patrol officer looking for a murderer. Cast includes Charles Bronson, Bruno Kirby, Bert Remsen, Michael Lerner, Kenneth McMillan, Ed Harris, and Wilford Brimley. (105 minutes, 1980)
