Hoover seems to prefer newer and more scientifically advanced techniques to capture John Dillinger, but the audience soon realizes that only a combination of both these modern techniques as well as old school methods can help to capture someone like Dillingers caliber.
The Public Enemies movie follows Dillinger both during his days of glory as well as his fall. His story is portrayed extremely well.
