Clone Wars LEGO Bricks Sets

By Peter Barnes

LEGO has been putting out new Star Wars themed sets every year since 1999. These are typically great quality LEGO sets that do a good job of driving interest in both Star Wars and LEGO. Before creating Star Wars themed LEGO sets, LEGO did not use licensed characters or vehicles in any of its themes, but since the Star Wars themes have been so popular, the LEGO Group has went ahead and created other already licensed products like Spider-man, Sponge Bob and Indiana Jones.

With the release of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series many LEGO Collectors were expecting a new series of Star Wars LEGO sets. These fans were not disappointed as LEGO released quite a few new sets to compliment the Clone Wars saga. These new Star Wars LEGOs have been created with especially cartoon-ish features, especially the LEGO mini figures that are included.

The Clone Wars LEGO Sets have taken off very well and are enjoying at least as much success as the Star Wars LEGO sets before them. Many assumed the LEGO Group would have a difficult time creating new LEGO sets with the movie because there were not a lot of new ships and vehicles in the cartoon but this has not proven true. The LEGO Group has been able to take ships and mini figures that they already put out in LEGO sets and create an entirely new spin on things by changing the feel of the sets.

A personal favorite Clone Wars LEGO set of mine is the MagnaGuard Starfighter LEGO Set. This set is not the most complicated or detailed Clone Wars LEGO set by far but the included MagnaGaurd droid mini figures are a very cool addition to my collection. Along with the mini figures the Starfighter is a very fun build itself. It is chalk full of weapons and the Starfighter also has a cool space in the wings for each of the MagnaGuard droids' weapons! There is also a gun that flips up in the back of the Starfighter.

Since The Clone Wars' release, LEGO has put out twenty three LEGO sets based on this film. These releases will ensure that the Clone Wars LEGO sets will be popular for awhile. The LEGO group always does a great job at getting the word out about new producsts. That fact, along with the Star Wars films' popularity should keep these LEGO sets moving. We also know that many LEGO sets become collectible items, especially Star Wars LEGOs! Because of this, it's a smart move to get your hands on the Clone Wars LEGO Sets while they are available. - 23815
