Acoustic Guitar: For Every Player In Any Style

By Fafane Caloxty

Unlike electric guitars, acoustic guitars are unique in that they require no additional amplification. The sounds produced by this type of guitar are naturally amplified using acoustic methods. This type of guitar is capable of a large range of sounds, and does not lack variety. Musicians have used this type of guitar for more classic music as well as modern music.

Using a sound box and a soundboard, acoustic guitars amplify the sound made by the guitar's strings. The hollowness of the guitar also helps to generate a louder sound. The soundboard of this type of guitar is larger than that of the electric guitar, which allows it to produce more sound. A Lap Steel Guitar is a special form of steel stringed guitar. It is placed in its own category because of its construction and style of play. This guitar has raised strings which require the use of a metal slide known as a "Steel." It must be held in the lap, and cannot be played in the more conventional manner. Today's g

Acoustic guitars provide musicians with a variety of sounds, and looks. This type of guitar denotes personal style and a deeper level of music. Used for both modern music and classic music, the acoustic guitar is very versatile. - 23815
