Playstation 3 - RPG Oblivion
There are only a handful of RPGs for the Playstation 3 and Oblivion happens to be one. The game is huge. It is literally the size of a small country. You take on the role of one of ten races and you choose what type of fighter you want to be. You can be strong and physical or you can have mystical, magical powers as your main abilities. You pick all of this before you begin the main quest and have a chance to change your mind before exiting the tutorial levels and into the real world.
In Oblivion, you have access to a large open world, as well as the Oblivion world, giving you hours of area to explore. Enemies are also plentiful, as you face them in both the Oblivion and the main world. Certain areas are not accessible until the goal criteria is met, but until then there is much to explore.
You could literally walk through the forest for ten minutes and then happen upon some ruins that happen to have underground tunnels running under the countryside. These ruins and castles are scattered throughout the world and once you discover them, you can warp back and forth between discovered places.
The game has numerous stats to level up and a day/night cycle, which keeps track of the time you spend on your quest. some of the characters can only be found at night or during the day, and follow a timeline in their activities. Most places are closed at night and you need to be sure to get rest and sleep, or your health and stamina decrease.
The game has great graphics and numerous weapons available. You can return to the main quest, as you like, and there are many side quests available. The main menu keeps track of your game progress and lets you know when you have completed a quest. The only negative to the game is the lack of a storyline. Although full of great features, many gamers will not purchase this game, as they do not want to invest hours of playing a game without a story. - 23815
