The Formula: This is a remarkably matter-of-truth thriller in regards to a cop who investigates a buddy's kill and finds him connected to a bizarre structure engaging a recipe for artificial energy. Scott and Brando are unconditionally worth observing; however author-creator Steve Shagan telegraphs all his punches. Cast includes George Scott, Marlon Brando, Marthe Keller, John Gielgud, Beatrice Un-crooked, and Craig T. Nelson. (117 minutes, 1980)

Coal Miner's Daughter: Towels-to-wealth tale of nation singer Loretta Lynn is amid the best lyrical bios ever made, albeit very last quarter does skid over some "down side" details. Cast includes Sissy Spacek, Tommy Lee Jones, Beverly D' Angelo, Levon Helm, Phyllis Boyens, and Ernest Tubb. (125 minutes, 1980)

Forrest Gump: Sitting on a park bench waiting for the bus, Forrest Gump recounts the events of his life to total strangers. We learn of all the incredible adventures this simple man has experienced that have eventually returned him to this bus stop back, and soon to his lifelong love, Jenny. Tom Hanks stars as Forrest Gump.

From the earth to The Moon: Jules Verne's fiction doesn't hover well in contrived sci-fi of early rocket flight to the moon. War horse cast looks most agitated. Cast includes Joseph Cotten, George Sanders, Debra Paget, Don Dubbins, Patric Knowles, and Henry Daniel. (100 minutes, 1958)

Shadow-lands: Soaking up story of British author C. S. Lewis the Lion, The Sorcerer and the Closet whose content if firm life as an Oxford don in the 1950s is rattled by his meeting with a forthright American poet. Knowledgeable and moving, with Hopkins in summit form and Winger his match; the aiding performers are excellent. This was filmed on location at Oxford. Cast includes Richard Attenborough, Anthony Hopkins, Debra Winger, Edward Hardwick, Michael Denison, Joseph Mazzello, John Wood, Robert Fleming, and Peter Howell. (130 minutes, 1993)

This is more graphically vicious, yet noticeably less atmospheric than Foreign VS. Hunter. The continuation offers easy, infrequently stimulating B-movie buzzes. Anticipative moms may do well to avert their' eyes throughout an ingeniously scary maternity-ward pattern. Full importance of the very last scene can be lost on anyone not thoroughly acquainted with arcane facets of the foreign film myths.
