Diggers: Set in 1970s Long Island, film concentrates on 2 generations of, clam diggers who are trying despondently to sustain their way of life and admiring in a town that might be getting ready to pass them by. Andrew Constitutions' lush, over the top Hollywood-fantasy production layout is the genuine megastar here; everything else is heavy handed and shallow, a self-consciously synthetic burlesque of an already lightweight film genre.
